Yousif Hussain

Director at EY and leads the AI Hub for MENA

Yousif Hussain is a Director at EY and leads the AI Hub for MENA. He has over 15 years of experience in data, AI, and digital transformation across Finance.

He helps leaders and consultants understand AI and use it well. He believes the best transformations happen when we focus on people first and let technology follow.

Previously, Yousif served as Chief of Staff and Global AI Lead, where he built and scaled a global AI team across 10 countries and delivered the firm’s Generative AI strategy. He has advised public and private sector clients on AI adoption and governance, delivered executive training globally, and worked with leading AI partners including Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Mistral.

Yousif believes that behind every successful AI project is a human story worth telling. His work focuses on helping people build confidence with AI, bridging the gap between technology and business, and making complex ideas simple, practical, and human.

Hatem has more than 20 years of international experience in corporate governance, risk, technology, and tech risk consulting. He was the practice leader and head of Consulting services for a regional consulting firm in Qatar, wherein he led more than 40 consultants providing a wide range of risk, governance, technology risk, and tech consulting services for a range of government and public sector, energy, ICT, and financial services sector clients.
More recently, Hatem served as the Chief Internal Auditor at one of the world’s largest LNG maritime operators, based out of Qatar. He also brings a wealth of international and local industry experience, having spent over eight years in roles focused on risk, resilience, IT assurance, and internal audit, working with major energy clients such as BP in the UK and Qatar Energy LNG in Qatar.
In addition to his consulting work, Hatem is a regular instructor at Qatar University, where he teaches open education courses related to Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He has also delivered numerous seminars across various ministries on topics related to artificial intelligence and its implications for risk consulting.

Hatem is an avid networking professional with active involvement with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the region.
